so much fun

I am having the best time here in New Orleans. I have learnt SO much, met some amazing people and got some sensational ideas about how to make my business grow while still being true to me. Very excited to get home and implement some changes, both in my life and business! I spent the last 3 days with some amazing photographers, listening to their words of inspiration and guidance as well as shooting models in wedding gowns on the streets of New Orleans. It was so much fun wandering around the streets, an array of backdrops, colours and textures to utilise. It was also great fun having a model to shoot who was not only comfortable in front of the camera but also wearing a borrowed gown so she was willing to sit, lie, stand anywhere! heres a couple of my shots from yesterday. Looking forward to playing with some more once I finish proofing my wedding files. Ix1_3

We had an amazing event last night..i think its called a line..we had a brass band and a lady on stills walk us as a big parade several blocks to our dinner destination. We ate and drank (and gee they make the drinks strong here!) laughed and chatted, then headed off to a bar in Bourbon Street. They are a little more confronting with their "underground" activity here than I am used to I must admit. I spent a large part of the night giggling at the things I saw and trying to make the bar girl understand what drink I was ordering (she had a heap of difficulty with my accent).
It was the last day today and I have said goodbye to lots of new friends. I have done a little bit of exploring this afternoon and have booked into a swamp tour tomorrow and a city tour on friday. I had my palm read and my tarot done..it was kinda spooky with some of the things she said..and others just made me giggle! They are blocking off the street in front of my hotel tomorrow for "filming" and someone saw Brad Pitt the other day ride past on a bike so I will be intrigued to see what they are making! I should get ready to go out for dinner. see you later alligator (hehee..will be seeing one of them tomorrow!)

We went out for dinner tonight to a cool local bar and I am now sitting in my gorgeous hotel room trying to decide if I can work out how to use a percolator to make coffee and whether its worth the effort?! home

safe and sound. we had a blast. I feel so relaxed but lso a little jumpy cause its only 3 days til I am off again..this time a longer flight and a bigger adventure on my own to New Orleans. Very excited!! I also have a wedding That I am so excited to be photographing before I go so I am trying not to get ahead of myself.
So, the holiday. the kids loved hanging out with their cousins. We swam, played, ate too much, went to Dreamworld and Seaworld, touched sea cucumbers, got wet on the river rapids, and almost fell over with excitement in wiggle world. My Dad turned 60, we had 2 cakes. We were joined by family for the celebrations. I saw my cousins who are now married with babies, captured images of them all to celebrate their families. We laughed, played cards, fished, sat in the boat, ten pin bowled, mini golfed and everyone else drank too much (I am a boring 1 drink wonder these days!LOL!) Goldcoast
A good time was had by all...and now we return to reality (well at least for a few days.) It is so good to be home though. Comfortable peace.
I will be back tomorrow with my shares of this weeks upload at shop and crop..until then i am off to re-aquaint myself with my pillows and my bed..oh, how I missed thee...seeya!

still here!

sunning myself at the sensational gold coast. Nothing much to report except that i am so relaxed its going to be hard to return to normal life! I would like better internet access so I could check my bloglines though..LOL! I suppose you can't have everything....back to the pool..seeya!

September 25, 2008

hi from the gold coast

i have very limited internet access..which i am really struggling with. Its funny to think that 4 short years ago I didn't even know how to email and now i almost feel lost without it! LOL! I have had to resort to using my dads laptop and his connection which means I cannot post any pictures. We have had a great time so far. we "did" Dreamworld on monday and the kids had an absolute blast! I was so thrilled with how welll they behaved and how little they let their emotions get out of control. we all came home happy and very tired!. The house we are staying at is fabulous with a big pool and spa, lots of room to play and the best part is it has a river at the back door with a little beach. we even have a little boat and a kayak to play around with! we have spent the last few days hanging around the pool, fishing in the river and generally being lazy. I have tried to exercise everyday with a combo of running and kayaking but I don't think it will conteract the generous amounts of food I am consuming! ahh..holiday mode.  Today is my Dads 60th birthday. we have been out for breakfast and are about to start preparations for lunch..yes,we love to eat in our family! LOL! I am avbout to give Dad some camera lessons while we sit in the warm sun!! seeya..
